Why Co-Extrusion

A polymer cap, fused to the core.

Uncapped WPC absorbs water and tends to fade within a few summers. Co-extruded WPC is made differently: a sealed PE polymer skin is bonded around the entire core during manufacture, so UV, water and salt air don't reach the wood fibre.

    UV-stable surface

    Pigment is locked into the polymer skin during co-extrusion, so there is no surface coating to chip or chalk. Tested for 5,000+ hours under accelerated AU sun.

    360° PE co-ex cap

    The sealed polyethylene skin wraps every face (top, bottom and both sides), so water, salt air and dirt never reach the wood fibre. Standard WPC only caps three sides.

    Molecular bond

    Cap and core are extruded simultaneously and fused at 195°C. There is no glue line to peel; the two layers are chemically welded into one board.

  4. 04

    Dense WPC core

    Recycled hardwood fibres compressed with HDPE polymer. Twice the density of standard WPC, which is why Fencly boards span 1.83m without sag.

What is a WPC fence?

A WPC (wood-plastic composite) fence is made from recycled timber fibres bonded with high-density polymers. Fencly's co-extruded WPC adds a 360° polymer cap around the core, which protects it from UV, moisture and termites. It looks like timber but doesn't need painting, staining or sealing.

How much does a WPC fence cost compared to timber or Colorbond?

Upfront, co-extruded WPC sits roughly 25–40% above hardwood paling and Colorbond. Once you account for staining, paint cycles and rotted-board replacements over the life of the fence, the lifetime cost typically lands well below timber and is competitive with Colorbond. Every quote we issue is a fixed price inclusive of GST, so there are no surprises — we can run the figures on your specific boundary as part of a free measure and quote.

How durable is co-extruded WPC, and how long does it last?

The sealed PE polymer cap means UV, water, salt air and stains can't reach the wood fibre, so the boards won't rot, split, warp or fade like timber. Fencly co-extruded WPC carries a 15-year written warranty on every panel and is built to outlast that comfortably in Australian conditions, including coastal and poolside installs.

What does installation involve and how long does it take?

We book a free on-site measure, then dispatch your kit from our Silverwater warehouse, usually within a week. Posts are set into concrete footings and the capped WPC boards or panels slot into aluminium channels. A typical residential boundary is installed in 1–3 days depending on length and ground conditions. We offer supply-only for DIY and trade, or full supply-and-install across Greater Sydney.

How do I maintain and clean a WPC fence?

There's no painting, staining, oiling or sealing — ever. An occasional hose-down, or a wipe with warm soapy water and a soft brush for stubborn marks, keeps it looking new. The capped surface resists mould, mildew and stains, so general garden grime rinses straight off.
